Zermatt Rosterei Hiker

The Beast team was approached by Michelin-starred chef Marian Podola to create two brand films: one for his coffee company Rosterei — the highest coffee roastery in Europe, based in Zermatt — and one for his mountain restaurant, located directly on the piste.

Drawn by a shared love of great coffee, exceptional food, and snowboarding, the project became an instinctive collaboration. We developed a simple, emotive script built around contrast and rhythm, intercutting between calm and exertion, precision and journey.

The film moves between a coffee master roasting beans in a quiet mountain cabin, framed by sweeping alpine views, and a lone hiker climbing towards the summit. As the ascent unfolds, the landscape opens up to reveal a perfect view of the Matterhorn. At the peak, the two worlds meet — the ritual of making the perfect cup of coffee, distilled to its purest form.

The result is an understated, atmospheric brand film that celebrates craft, environment, and the quiet satisfaction found in both the journey and the reward.
