Suburban Girl

Suburban Girl

This experimental fashion film was shot on a UK housing estate, drawing inspiration from a bold, observational British documentary aesthetic. Grounded in everyday life, the film embraces familiar surroundings as its visual language — using texture, colour, and social detail to reframe fashion through a raw, contemporary lens.

Rather than idealising the environment, the camera leans into it. Saturated colour, direct framing, and slightly off-kilter compositions give the film a documentary edge, blurring the line between fashion imagery and social observation. Models move through communal spaces, stairwells, and walkways with confidence, allowing the clothes to exist naturally within the setting.

The result is a fashion film that feels irreverent and grounded — playful yet pointed. By placing stylised fashion within a lived-in, everyday environment, the piece challenges conventional fashion aesthetics and celebrates realism, character, and visual honesty over polish.
