Adidas “Lines”

This content film was shot over two summer days across Downtown Los Angeles and Silver Lake, using the BEAST approach: meticulous planning combined with a small, highly mobile crew. This allowed us to move quickly between locations, capturing a wide range of environments and textures that give the film its rich, layered feel.

The result is a piece of content that carries the visual weight and polish of a high-end commercial, while retaining the freedom and spontaneity of a fast-moving location shoot. Each setting adds a new rhythm and tone, creating a sense of constant forward motion as the film unfolds.

At the centre of the story is a simple but striking idea. A lone walker moves through the city, gradually becoming followed by graphic lines that trace his journey. At first, these lines feel abstract — playful, curious, and slightly mysterious. As the film progresses, the visual language begins to resolve, revealing that the lines connect directly to the iconic three stripes of the Adidas brand.

The walker is portrayed by Sam Tam, model and actor, whose previous credits include The Hunger Games and Levi’s Chase. His calm, understated presence allows the concept to breathe, keeping the focus on movement, rhythm, and discovery rather than performance.

Post-production was handled partly in-house and partly in collaboration with our friends at a52. The final film blends 2D and 3D animation, created using After Effects and Maya, seamlessly integrated into live-action footage. The graphics feel embedded in the world rather than layered on top — reinforcing the idea that brand identity can exist naturally within everyday movement.

The end result is a confident, visually inventive content film that transforms a simple walk through the city into a reveal of brand identity — subtle, graphic, and unmistakably Adidas.
