“Push the Prom” is a great new skateboarding event for girls in the UK. It was started by the UK’s No1 female skateboarder, Lucy Adams and the founder of GirlSkateUK Danni Gallacher.
A celebration of Go skateboarding day – The girls have dedicated themselves to the female skater community offering free lessons, to build confidence and a foundation for girls to find “their rightful place on the concrete!”
The girls gathered at the Level skate park in Brighton for lessons, then took part in a mini ramp competition where loads of prizes were up for grabs from their brilliant sponsors Penny Boards, Element clothing & Wesc Clothing. After a couple of hours of tricks, hits and bruised hips, the girls lead the entourage on a three mile skate along Brighton sea front to Hove Lagoon skate park. The rest of the day saw more competitions, prizes, and some girls braving their first drop in!
